Dr. Prasarn specializes in the surgical care of complex spinal disorders and orthopaedic trauma. He earned his medical degree from NYU School of Medicine and completed his orthopaedic residency at the University of Miami – Jackson Memorial Hospital. Following his residency, Dr. Prasarn finished a Fellowship in Orthopaedic Trauma at the Hospital for Special Surgery. He then went on to complete the Louis A. Goldstein Spinal Surgery fellowship at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Additionally, he has been a visiting fellow at MD Anderson Cancer Institute. Dr. Prasarn is currently an Associate at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston.
Dr. Prasarn is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, the North American Spine Society, and the American Spinal Cord Injury Association. Dr. Prasarn has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters on spine trauma, the degenerative spine, pelvic fractures, non-unions, and other complex fractures. He is the spine consultant for the Houston Texans and all University of Houston sports teams.
